- Being on the 1st Edison Eagles Football Team.
- Being in the 1st Edison Graduation Class.
- Helping form the "Titans" social club.
- Chasing the girls of the "Theta" social club.
- Having my 1st car - a 1947 Black 4 door Chevy tank - smoked like hell.
- Dating Donna & Penny & Betty & Pat & Barbara
& Linda & anyone else that would date me (not many would).
- Larry Young & Carl Wheeler riding their Mustang motor scooters, I always wanted one -
& Mike Edwards on his vespa ....
- Being sure to not to wear green and yellow on Thursday, 'cause we didn't want to be a "queer", don't think I even
knew what a queer was.
- Letterman jackets, "T" shirts, Blue jeans and tennis shoes.
- Going to Pennington's constantly.
- Bob Buck, Mike Edwards, Bob McAlpine,
Steve McKenzie, Darrell Martin, Dale Parkey, Don Randall, Phil Swartz, Larry
Young, Carl Wheeler, Bert Williams, Chuck Stuck, John McCoy, Dave Inkster, Don
Hayden, Don Hammett, Bill Fisher, Bill Dugan, John Copper, Dick Conroy, Mike
Compton, Bill Butler, Ned & Paul Best, Andy Bartlett, Bill Abernathy, and
many many more - and of course all the girls.
- Towing a port-a-potty behind Carl Wheelers Jeep thru Pennington's w/Jake the security guard chasing us.
- Circling Pennington's for hours just to park on sosh row.
- Cruising back & forth, back and forth, just hoping to see and be seen . By anybody.
- Being nicknamed "Dunker" by coach Tom Hurst, because I couldn't dunk the basketball.
- Heading "the other way" every time I saw Dr. Hirum Alexander in the hall.
Didn't have a reason, it just seemed prudent at the time.
- Teacher Don Hoopert calling me Mr.. Davis all the time & I didn't know who he was talking to.
- Having a secret crush on Ms. Spybuck.
- Wrestling for Coach Jim Sellers for 2
years, behind Tom Webb & never getting to compete in a real match, but
Sellers telling me how important I was to the "team".
- Teacher Caroline Copeland asking me if I ever read any of the books that she assigned - yes Ms. Copeland ...
- Escaping to Pennington's at lunch, when we were not supposed to leave campus.
- Using the elevator without getting caught.
- Peeking into the "Teachers Lounge" w/o being caught.
- Exchanging swat's with Coach Sellers.
- The songs we loved were by Elvis Presley - Heart Break Hotel , Blue Suede Shoes,
Jailhouse Rock, You Aint Nothin' but a Hound dog..etc ..
- Gas at 25 cents per gal. and bulk oil for my Chevy 15 cents a quart, needed 2 quarts all the time.
- Working at the Filling Station for spending money.
- Sneaking into the Bel Aire & Admiral Twin Drive In in the trunk of a car. In-car heaters at the drive
in.
- The best memories has to be all of the great kids & teachers (although
we didn't know it at the time).
